Everything about our stay, from booking to our last minute at the lodge was wonderful. Jayne was so helpful and friendly.
Tooting Lodge is a luxury haven in the Scottish Highlands, with every tiny detail perfectly attended to.
It was immaculately clean, and and the furniture and appliances were top quality. The beds were really comfy and warm with lovely cotton sheets. I have never seen such a well equipped kitchen, with everyday plates and cutlery, best plates and cutlery and picnic things too! Sometimes in a holiday cottage it is difficult to cook a meal, but this kitchen was as well kitted out as my own at home so cooking was no issue at all!
We did local walks but it would have been just as nice to have time to sit and watch the multitude of wildlife around the lodge. The owners very thoughtfully fill the bird and squirrel feeders, and even left food for us to give the pine martens that visited nightly. There was a 'bird cam' that we could watch through the TV and we spent a good fascinated while watching the blue-tit build her nest. Unfortunately we had to go home before the eggs were laid.
The welcome tray was well stocked, and there were even some Arran Aromatics toiletries for our use, which was an extra-special touch. There are local maps, and even a waterproof map case for your use!
I can't recommend Tooting Lodge highly enough. Our only regret is that we had to return home after a week as we could have stayed much, much longer!
From our base at the Lodge we were easily able to make trips to the Isle of Rum and Mull as well as taking in the Ardnamurchan
